Blog Insights From Info-Tech LIVE 2024
This year, Packetlabs was honored to be a partner and attendee of the Info-Tech Research Group's annual flagship conference, Info-Tech LIVE in Las Vegas.
This premier three-day conference:
Brought together over 2,000 IT executives, thought leaders, industry analysts, and technology experts
50+ feature and technology keynote speakers
60+ breakout and workshop sections
80+ lightning rounds
700+ analyst discussions
And unlimited peer-to-peer networking opportunities
Here were our top takeaways and insights from the event:
This Year's Theme: Exponential IT in Motion
Heralded as one of "the world’s fastest-growing information technology research and advisory company", the Info-Tech Research Group serves over 30,000 IT professionals through their continued thought leadership in the industry.
As an organization, the Research Group was founded in 1997 and now has offices across the following countries:
Canada (Ontario)
US (Nevada and Virginia)
Australia (Sydney)
These years of experience were reflected in this year's theme, "Exponential IT in Motion"... ... and why rapid development means that even the most capable of teams can't do everything themselves.
With the challenge of filling IT leadership roles escalating, many keynote speakers referenced the 2024 Info-Tech and McLean & Company survey, which highlights a critical gap in leadership skills within IT (and a pressing need for leadership skills prioritization.) More specifically, keynote speakers delved into the shifting paradigm where the focus increasingly moves toward people leadership and business acumen over technical expertise alone.
Another key takeaway was that when it comes to cybersecurity, "If you're standing still, you're going backward." Achieving an appropriate maturity in your security posture isn't a one-exercise endeavour, especially in today's modern threat landscape.
At our booth, our team talked with attendees about how organizations can prepare for the surge of emerging technology risks. With traditional risk management approaches oftentimes not being able to keep pace with the amount of change or the complexities that emerging technologies bring with them, we had numerous conversations about how teams like yours are investing in intensive, integrated cybersecurity roadmaps that promise dynamic risk management.
Conclusion
Just because Info-Tech LIVE has ended doesn’t mean its learning opportunities have.
With its heavy emphasis on how exponentially advancing technologies disrupt industries and business models –forcing business leaders across all industries to embrace rapid change in how they manage their cybersecurity–we cannot wait to see how the learnings from this year's conference help teams prepare to make 2025 their most secure year to date.
